You Are On Indian Land
Leading American Indian artists Marcu Amerman (Choctaw), Nicholas Galanin (Tlingit/Aleut), Michael Namingha (Hopi-Tewa), Steven Yazzie (Navajo), and others challenge how contemporary Native American art is presented and understood in You Are On Indian Land. Monoprints combine with assemblage sculptures and video installations to create a visual dialogue and critical perspective on native art while actively engaging the notion of pop-culture, misappropriation, and stereotypical representation through powerful and thought provoking work.
