SUMMARY:Chamber Institute: Slips\, Trips\, & Falls: Why Are They Still Happening in Your Business?
DESCRIPTION:Slips\, Trips\, & Falls: Why Are They Still Happening in Your Business? \n\nPresented by Carly Baez\, Director of Safety and Member Services of ARMSA.\n\n \n\nSlips\, trips\, and falls within the workplace is still one of the highest recorded incidents in workers' compensation injuries. We rely on our safety personnel to put procedures and products to limit the risk in place. So what is left? When all of these risks have been reduced\, when best practices are in place\, and employees are regularly trained on what to do to prevent these types of incidents there is another factor that is remaining that needs to be addressed the human factor.\n\n\n\nThis session will not only address the common hazards we face in the workplace\, but also the hazards we create ourselves and how we can change our actions and our thinking.\n\n\n\n\n\nWho is Carly Baez?\n\n\n\n \n\nAs Arizona Risk Management & Safety Association's (ARMSA) Director of Safety and Member Services\, Carly Baez provides safety training and consultation services for general industry members along with coordinating training and resources through partners in the construction industry. In addition to the safety side of ARMSA\, she also assists her insurance team to ensure potential members receive excellent service. She takes pride in what she does and enjoys developing programs\, committees\, and instruction where it does not currently exist. She finds that work to be exciting as well as rewarding. Carly believes that safety\, not only in the workplace but throughout our community\, is truly a community effort. ARMSA's recently formed Safety Innovation Committee is an example of that belief\, bringing together other professionals and experts in their field for the benefit of the Arizona employees and the success of those that employ them.\n\n\n\nIn addition to the work Carly along with her partners has done within ARMSA\, she is also the Vice President of the Arizona Chapter American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)\, sits on the Board of Directors for Kids' Chance of Arizona\, and is a coalition partner of Drive Smart Arizona.
