DESCRIPTION:Please help save lives by donating blood at the Flagstaff Community Annual Thanksgiving Week Blood Drive! Vitalant is the sole supplier to 96% of Arizona hospitals\, and they can't do it without the help of the local community. Advance appointments are encouraged\, but walk-ins are welcome as well. Donors of all types are needed! \n\n\n\nNonprofit blood services provider Vitalant urges all eligible donors to help meet the critical patient need for lifesaving transfusions by giving blood regularly.  It is the blood already on the shelves that saves lives in emergencies\, and the 6th anniversary of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting is a reminder that tragedy can strike at a moment's notice. \n\n\n"I never knew how important it was to donate blood until it had saved my own life.\n\nI wouldn't be here with my family if I didn't have the blood transfusions."\n\nJovanna Calzadillas\n\n \n\nBlood donors help people like Jovanna Calzadillas\, a Las Vegas shooting survivor who traveled from Arizona to the 2017 Route 91 Harvest Music Festival with her husband Frank.  After suffering a severe gunshot wound to the head\, Frank carried her to safety and enlisted the help of by-standers and police officers to rush her to the hospital. Jovanna was among the first to arrive at the Las Vegas University Medical Center.  With a prognosis of un-survivable injuries\, she made a remarkable recovery thanks to her doctors and blood donors. \n\n\n\nAll donors receive a voucher for a Pizza Slice and Soda\, compliments of Fratelli Pizza\n\n \n\nNov. 1 - 30 donors have a chance to win 1 of 5 $5\,000 prepaid gift cards.\n\nGo to https://vitalant.org/ for details.
