We are excited to host this presentation by Margaret Hangan, MA., Forest Archaeologist for the Kaibab National Forest.
Learn about the African American laborers that worked in the lumber companies in the Flagstaff area. This historical perspective includes a presentation on the African American contributions to the lumber companies, railroads, sawmills and their living conditions. Please join us for this exciting presentation from the years of Margaret Hangan's research on historical archaeology with an emphasis on ethnic communities of the west.
Margaret Hangan has been a professional Archaeologist for over 30 years working in the Great Basin, California and Southwest. She has worked in both private industry and as a land manager. She is currently the Forest Archaeologist for the Kaibab National Forest.
