Native Services Assistant
Our Native Services Department is seeking an Assistant to help with programming, mentoring and supervising youth at our remote locations: Kinlani, Winslow & Holbrook Dorms.
Responsibilities
• Position Type: Part-time Hourly Position, 10-20 hours per week
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM (Additional nights and weekends may be required for scheduled meetings and events)
• Promoting and stimulating participation in assigned programs
• Assisting teens with goal setting and skills development
• Providing mentorship for teens
• Properly supervising teens in your care
• Develop & Implement Programs
• Enable BGCF To Provide Quality, Developmentally Appropriate Programs By
• Monitoring and evaluating assigned programs, services and activities, and quality programming at all times
• Preparing periodic activity reports, administer surveys, track progress and make continuous improvement to assigned programs
• Provide direct supervisor with weekly and quarterly progress reports regarding program activities
• Provide Secondary Site Support
• Work with your team as a cohesive unit to support the success of the organization by:
• Adhering to all guidelines, rules, etc., set by the Navajo Nation while working in Winslow Residential Hall and Tiisyaakin Residential Hall
• Maintaining standards of child safety and promoting active teens participation in programs
• Commitment to professional development by completing all assigned trainings, meetings, and webinars
• Transporting teens from Winslow Residential Hall and Tiisyaakin Residential Hall to scheduled outings as needed
• Managing Club membership databases and assisting with events, annual fundraising campaigns, and community awareness
• Providing general administrative support (i.e maintaining inventory, spreadsheets, marketing materials and flyers, and composing letters)
• Cultivating professional relationships with community partners
• The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
Benefits
• Compensation: Hourly rate $19.50/hr
• Signing bonus: $500 after completion of 90 days' employment; $1500 after completion of 1 years' employment
