Job Description
Mountain Line seeks Transit Bus Operators to provide safe, reliable and
courteous service to the community, while operating buses on designated routes
on a defined schedule. Candidates will need the ability to exercise sound
judgments, the ability to work in a time structured environment, the ability to be
punctual and to have good attendance, ability to multitask and to remain calm in
challenging situations. We will train you to drive our buses. Come join an

Part time hours scheduled on a two week basis, this position may work as
much as 40 hours per week. Mountain Line operates 7 days a week, 4:30am -
11:00pm, work most holidays, some split shifts, and some 10 hr shifts.

Salary: $16.42 hourly to start, $20.77 after 3 years.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Work involves transporting passengers in a transit bus, on a prescribed route, in a
safe reliable and courteous manner.
Operators are responsible for the safe operation of our state of the art equipment,
following all traffic regulations, Mountain Line policies and procedures.
Employees are expected to maintain a professional image, emphasizing positive
customer relations.
Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Requires full availability for any shift, seven days a week, including nights,
weekends and holidays.
Required to assist passengers as needed.
Employee may be required to work overtime.
Must have the ability to multitask in a fast paces environment.
Subject to random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident FTA drug and alcohol
Required to complete vehicle inspections and reports.
Responsible for collecting proper fares, inspecting passes and data collection.
Ability to communicate via a two way radio system.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physically perform the necessary functions of the position.

Ability to obtain an Arizona CDL learning permit and pass the CDL physical prior to
the start of class date.
Upon a conditional offer of employment, you are required to pass an FTA preemployment
drug test.
Must be available for the entire training program.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
No driver's license suspensions, revocations or restrictions within the past 60
months (5 years).
Ability to pass reference and background checks.

Previous driving experience as a transit bus operator or heavy equipment operator.
CDL class B with passenger endorsement and no air brake restrictions.

Education Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
