The 24th annual Flagstaff Folk Festival will take place June 13-14 at Coconino Center for the Arts and Pioneer Museum. Presented by Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music (FFOTM), the Flagstaff Folk Festival brings an array of musical acts representing the diverse genre of folk music. From country to middle eastern, indie folk to Celtic, singer-songwriters to instrumentalists, the lineup offers something for every ear.
Headlining acts include: Northern Ute/Diné Grammy-nominated guitarist, singer-songwriter, Native American flutist and flute maker Aaron White; Flagstaff’s own acclaimed and internationally-touring, indie-folk duo Tow’rs; singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and son of John McEuen (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Nathan McEuen; and The NAU Middle East Ensemble, a 14-piece band performing music from Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, Iran and beyond.
The festival offers a slate of workshops that all attendees can enjoy such as harmony singing, songwriting, a rhythm workshop, creative guitar playing and more. Additionally, there will be a jamming tent and a songwriters circle.
From the Food Court festival goers will enjoy delicious options including BBQ, samosas, ice cream, baked goods, fresh coffee and cold beverages. The Vendor Village will feature unique items from local artisans including leatherworks, jewelry, bags, and festive clothing. Tynkertopia, will offer fun, music-related activities for children of all ages.
