College & Career Resource Fair
The Coconino Hispanic Advisory Council will present its inaugural College & Career Resource Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at Killip Elementary School, 2300 E. 6th Ave., Flagstaff. The event will be aimed not only at high school students, but also their parents and the community. Free admission to all. It includes workshops on preparing for summer jobs, internships and job shadowing programs; learning the basics of financial aid and scholarships; high-school-to-college transition programs and helping first-generation college students adjust to college or university life. Information tables will feature resources on upcoming teen job fairs; details on future workshops on resumé writing and interview skills; and agencies to contact regarding summer job and internships. Translators will be available to assist parents and students.
