NAU International Fall Film Series 2014 - Aftermath
Based on the Jedwabne Pogrom of July 1941 in which 340 Polish Jews were massacred by their neighbors with the complicity of the Nazi police. For decades it was believed that the Nazi forces had committed the atrocity but in 2003 the Polish Institute of National Remembrance Government concluded that the violence was committed by Polish people. The film set off a storm of controversy in Poland. Hosted by the Martin-Springer Institute. [Original Title Pokłosie] (Poland, 2012) Władysław Pasikowski, dir. Color. 120 min.
