Night at the Museum: Thumb Prints--Hitchhiking and American Culture, 1928-1988
Hitchhiking was a very common form of mobility throughout the United States for much of the 20th century before losing mainstream acceptance in the 1980s. This FREE talk explores the various identities and meanings associated with the practice over the years while rooting its rising popularity and eventual decline within broader historical trends. Our speaker for the evening is Jack Reid who recently was awarded his PhD in History from NAU.
