This course is a fast, easy way for the nontechnical user to get comfortable using free AI tools to increase their business or personal productivity and creativity.
You need a laptop you can bring to class and you need to be comfortable using it. The course will take you from zero knowledge of how to create “prompts”–simple text instructions to an AI service–to an intermediate level of prompt expertise by the end of the course.
You will find that you don't need to be a great writer, designer, or marketer to create a solid business plan or marketing campaign. You don't have to be "artistic" or "super-creative" to make great social media posts or a create a fun, illustrated storybook for your child or grandchild.
Learning to prompt will open a whole new world of self-expression and a greater ability connect with others. You will be able to:
1) Boost your work or school productivity
2) Learn a new language or other skill more quickly
3) Easily explore new frontiers in art, design, and creative writing
The course includes a free ebook with examples, customizable prompting templates, helpful tips, and info on additional AI services and resources.
Class meets Tuesdays & Wednesdays, June 4, 5, 11, 12 from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Instructor Ariel Strong is a techie who loves to introduce nontechnical folks to all of the fun and creative possibilities that breakthroughs in computing have made possible in recent years. She has worked in the field of software engineering since the early 1990s, and for the last seven years, has been specifically focused on Data Analytics and AI.
Ariel owns two businesses that utilize AI: Flagstaff Design and Marketing, a web services company, and FireFlight, a wildfire risk management company. FireFlight uses advanced drone imaging techniques in combination with AI to provide home and business owners with straightforward, site-specific action plans to protect their family, employees, and property from the threats of wildfire.
