Marimba Magic and Brahms

An unforgettable evening as FSO showcases the talents of its own principal percussionist, Brian Hanner. Glinka’s Overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila sweeps you into the world of Russian folklore. Ewazen’s beautiful Concerto for Marimba and String Orchestra showcases the marimba’s unique voice and Hanner’s artistry. Brahms’; Symphony No. 2 provides a calm counterbalance to the evening’s earlier excitement.

The pre-concert reception, a time to gather with community and enjoy snacks and beverages, is at 6pm in the Kitt Recital Hall Atrium. The "Chat with Charles", a fun informational chat about the music on the program that evening, is at 6:30pm in Kitt Recital Hall.
