Meet Lowell astronomer Dr. Larry Wasserman and hear his talk titled ?Why Do I Observe Occultations? And What is an Occultation Anyway?? from 7 ? 8 p.m. An informal Q and A will follow from 8 ? 9 p.m. Talk Description: Occasionally an object in our Solar System will pass between the Earth and a star causing an ?occultation?. Surprisingly, we can learn quite a bit about the occulting Solar System object by observing these events.
