The Far End of the Journey: The Clark Telescope and other Treasures of Lowell Observatory
Two new books by Lowell historian Kevin Schindler highlight the rich legacy of Lowell Observatory: its scientists, their groundbreaking research, and the tools they used to both advance the field of astronomy and popularize the excitement of space to the general public. Join us at Pioneer Museum for a FREE presentation of stories and rare photographs of “astro-trailblazers” such as Edwin Hubble, Albert Michelson, and Henry Norris Russell, to Carl Sagan, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Walt Disney, and Zane Grey. RSVP! Limited seating available.
Kevin Schindler has worked at Lowell Observatory for twenty years, managing the observatory’s outreach program for much of that time. He now serves as Lowell’s historian, documenting the observatory’s remarkable history. He also serves as Sheriff of the Flagstaff Corral of Westerners—an international organization devoted to western American history—and writes an astronomy column—”View from Mars Hill”—for the Arizona Daily Sun.
