Flagstaff Community Blood Drive in memory of Dawson Merrick
Dawson was diagnosed with NK Cell Leukemia in February 2009.  He sadly passed away in September 2009, fighting the whole time.  Over eight months, Dawson had many red cell and platelet infusions.  "The blood was saving his life at that moment..."  One time, they had to slow down his transfusion because the blood bank did not have a matching unit available.  You never realize the importance of blood donation until it hits home.  It hit home for our family.  Dawson was given 350 units of blood during his sickness, equating to over 300 kind, generous strangers directly involved in saving his life for that moment.  So, thank you for giving blood.  It matters.  Donn, Audra, and Delaney Merrick.
