Chef Rochelle Daniel’s Atria Named to Inaugural 2026 MICHELIN Guide Southwest
The Flagstaff Restaurant is One of 12 Arizona Restaurants to Earn a “MICHELIN Recommended” Designation — and the Only One Outside Metro Phoenix

Flagstaff, Ariz. (Aug. 27, 2026)Atria, the modern American restaurant in Flagstaff owned and operated by chef Rochelle Daniel, was named a MICHELIN Guide Recommended restaurant on Wednesday night at the inaugural ceremony for the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Southwest in Las Vegas.

The honor makes Atria one of the first restaurants recognized in the Southwest's MICHELIN Guide. Atria was one of 12 Arizona restaurants to earn a Recommended designation, part of a broader group of 19 Arizona restaurants named in the debut guide across all categories, including Bib Gourmand and special awards.

The recognition came at the invite-only ceremony for the guide's foray into the region, covering Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Every other Arizona restaurant included in the guide calls the Phoenix metro area home, making Atria the only honoree from Flagstaff, the mountain town north of the Valley where Daniel introduced fine dining in the heart of the city’s historic downtown.

At Atria, that distinction shows up on the plate: a menu built on the hyperlocal, foraged and seasonal bounty of the high desert, where fine seafood and hearty steaks share the table with house-made pastas.

"I'm grateful to be recognized alongside such a talented group of chefs and restaurateurs across Arizona and the Southwest," said Daniel. "None of this happens without my team, many of whom have been with me since we opened our doors in 2021. And I owe a lot to this community, too, for believing in fine dining in Flagstaff long before there was any reason to. This recognition motivates me to keep raising the bar."

Rochelle Daniel is an acclaimed chef and restaurateur at the forefront of Arizona's thriving culinary scene, known for her thoughtful, ingredient-driven approach to fine dining. An Arizona native, she honed her craft as executive chef at L'Auberge de Sedona and Fat Ox in Scottsdale before opening Atria, earning induction into the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame in 2017 as Best Upcoming Chef along the way. Her success has since drawn national attention, including two James Beard Foundation semifinalist selections for 2026 Best Chef: Southwest and 2022 Emerging Chef.

This fall, Daniel is expanding her footprint in downtown Flagstaff with two new concepts, Pompette and Little Rich Girl (LRG), both set to join Atria on the same historic block. Pompette is an all-day French bistro and bakery that brings comfort and elegance together in a lively atmosphere, offering both full-service and quick, grab-and-go options, featuring fresh-baked pastries daily. Little Rich Girl is an underground speakeasy-style cocktail bar and lounge offering elevated bar bites and craft cocktails in an intimate hideaway. The openings are expected in late September.

About Pompette
Opening this fall in historic downtown Flagstaff, Pompette is a French bistro and bakery from two-time James Beard Award semifinalist Rochelle Daniel. The newest addition to her growing roster, Pompette joins its sister restaurant Atria next door to further establish the area as the culinary heart of Northern Arizona. Bringing the warmth and conviviality of a classic French brasserie to the high desert, Pompette is where tradition meets modern flair in a lively, welcoming atmosphere designed for long, leisurely meals and spontaneous stops. The menu is a celebration of French classics — steak frites, mussels, tartare, coq au vin and meats prepared on a custom open-fire hearth — executed with the precision and ingredients-first philosophy Daniel has become known for. Pastry Chef Alicia Motter leads the bakery program, turning out fresh pastries and artisan breads daily. The space itself reflects the spirit of the menu: custom-tiled floors, rich wood tones and playful floral touches, striking a balance between elegance and ease. Also opening this summer, Little Rich Girl (LRG) — located downstairs from Pompette and Atria — is a speakeasy-style cocktail bar and lounge offering craft cocktails and elevated bar bites in an intimate hideaway. Little Rich Girl (LRG)
Opening this fall beneath sister restaurants Atria and Pompette in historic downtown Flagstaff, Little Rich Girl (LRG) is a speakeasy-style cocktail bar and lounge owned and led by two-time James Beard Award semifinalist Rochelle Daniel. The lights are low, the drinks are serious and the music makes it impossible to leave early. Set within a building that has stood for over a hundred years in a city with a very real history of underground drinking, secret tunnels and Prohibition-era contraband, LRG was always inevitable — a place that carries the spirit of what happened beneath these streets, this time with nothing to hide. Inside, rich purples, deep blue velvets and dark wood paneling set the tone, anchored by a commanding central bar. The cocktail program, led by Beverage Director Michael Hopper — named Top Mixologist/Bartender by the 2025 Foodist Awards, the highest culinary honor in Arizona — spans the classic to the obscure, with signature creations that push the boundaries of flavor without losing sight of craft. The food is equally deliberate, with elevated bar bites ranging from caviar service to a standout burger, because at Little Rich Girl, nothing is an afterthought. LRG is open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. until late. For more, visit LittleRichGirl.com.
