Position Title: Experienced Carpenter

Reports to: Lead Carpenter

Job Summary: The Experienced Carpenter plays a vital role within the construction team, working under the supervision of the Lead Carpenter. They are responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks, including whole home framing, trim carpentry, additions, remodels, decks, and various home maintenance tasks, while also providing supervision and training to skilled laborers. Their expertise in carpentry techniques and ability to lead and instruct contribute to the successful completion of projects and the development of junior team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Carpentry Work: Execute construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures, such as framing, cabinets, doors, and windows, according to project specifications and blueprints.

2. Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to plan and implement carpentry tasks accurately and efficiently.

3. Supervision and Training: Provide supervision, guidance, and training to skilled laborers, assisting in their skill development and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.

4. Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout all project phases, conducting inspections and addressing any issues promptly to meet project objectives.

5. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Lead Carpenter, project managers, and other construction team members to coordinate activities, allocate resources, and achieve project milestones.

6. Material Management: Manage and organize materials, tools, and equipment efficiently, ensuring they are used effectively and stored safely.

7. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all team members, reporting any safety hazards or concerns to the Lead Carpenter.

8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks, providing regular updates and reports to the Lead Carpenter.

Qualifications:

1. Technical Proficiency: Strong technical skills in carpentry techniques and practices, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.

2. Leadership Abilities: Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor junior team members.
